The Maryland Center for Military History Mission Statement:
To coordinate and oversee the activities of the Maryland Museum of Military History and the Maryland Military Historical Research Center and liaison with the Office of the JFHQ Command Historian and the Maryland Military Historical Society.
The Center collects, preserves, interprets, and presents artifacts, artwork, images and documents of significance to the history of the Maryland soldiers and airmen, and of the people, places, and events that represent the military heritage of the State of Maryland. Through exhibits, educational programs, and public outreach, the museum conveys an awareness of the military service of Marylanders, in particular National Guardsmen, and how that service has helped preserve American freedoms from 1634 to present.
The Maryland Center for Military History provides several different services:
Manage Hancock Memorial Library and Witte Memorial 29th Division Archives
Manage the MDNG historical property collection
Manage the Maryland Museum of Military History
