Command Sergeant Major David C. Harry  

Command Sergeant Major David C. Harry serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Maryland National Guard.  His military career spans over 27 years of service. CSM Harry was born in Georgetown, Guyana, S.A. and immigrated to the United States in 1979. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1997 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC as a Paralegal Specialist. CSM Harry was assigned to the 551st Signal Company from July 1997 to December 1999.  He was assigned to the 8th Army, Yongsan Legal Service Activity – Korea from December 1999 to January 2001. 

 CSM Harry then transferred to the Maryland Army National Guard and has since served in a multitude of Military Occupational Specialties and positions of increasing responsibility. CSM Harry's previous assignments include Paralegal Specialist and Assistant BN S4 for the 2/110th FA BN, Supply Sergeant for the HQ & A. Co, 229th MSB, Readiness NCO for the 104th ASMC, Operations Sergeant for the 1297th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion in Havre de Grace, MD, Operations Sergeant for the 70th Regional Training Institute and Quota Source Manager-G3, G4 SGM, G3 SGM,  Command Sergeant Major for the 1297th CSSB and Command Sergeant Major for the Maryland Army National Guard.  CSM Harry deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Detachment 1SG for the Headquarters, 158th Cavalry Squadron. His unit was charged with training and managing the Iraqi Corrections Officer Training Academy from 2007 to 2008. CSM Harry 's training proficiency led to his selection to lead multiple training events in support of the MDARNG State Partnership Program with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Estonia.  CSM Harry also spearheaded multiple iterations of the state's Best Warrior Competition. He also developed and instituted a Supply 101 and 201 course to increase the knowledge and proficiency within the logistics enterprise.

 Command Sergeant Major Harry's military education includes all levels of NCOPDS through the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Non-Resident Course at Fort Bliss, Texas where he graduated as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. CSM Harry is also a graduate of the Nominative Leaders Course t. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior College

 His individual awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), Army Commendation Medal (4th award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal (8th award), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Recruiting Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal among others. His unit awards include the permanent wear of the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

 He currently resides in York, PA with his wife, Analiza and three children, Devin, Isabella and David Jr and father-in-law Jacinto Saraza.  SKOL.​
