Volunteering in the MDDF requires all members to meet height & weight as well as physical fitness standards similar to active military requirements. **State and National Background Check required for all applicants**

Volunteers may serve in their professional field or specialty, or train and work on a different area in the MDDF.  The MDDF offers professional and personal development opportunities through specialized skills training and leadership development.  MDDF volunteers fall under two service categories:  a) Enlisted ranks; b) Commissioned Officer ranks.  Your assigned MDDF Recruiter will provide more information on this topic and will help you place in the correct category based on several factors such as education and experience.

Medical, Engineers, Human Resources and Administration, Recruiting, Cyber Security, Finance, Musicians, Chaplains, Plans and Operations, Training, Emergency Management, Information Technology, Civil Affairs, Tactical Communications, Calvary, and Legal.
