Brigadier General Amy P. Kremser serves as the Director of Joint Staff, Maryland National Guard.  As the Director, she leads the administration, coordination, planning, development, and education of all Joint Staff programs supporting Maryland domestic response and Homeland Defense contingency operations.  Brig Gen Kremser provides oversight to Joint Maryland elements including the 32nd Civil Support Team, Counterdrug Task Force, Honor Guard, and the State Partnership Program.  In addition, she provides coordination with the Maryland Department of Emergency Management for emergancy response operations and National Guard Civil Support Contingency Planning in support of state emergencies.

Brig Gen Kremser entered the Air Force in May 1998 after receiving her commission from the United State Air Force Academy.  She has served in a variety of operational and support positions throughout her military career in both the United States Air Force and the Maryland Air National Guard.  She has flown tactical airlift missions worldwide in Operations NORTHERN WATCH, JOINT ENDEAVOUR, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM, as well as supporting Joint Task Force Horn of Africa and several missions in Sub-Saharan Africa. Brig Gen Kremser was assigned to Ramstein Air Base, Germany and Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina flying the C-130E aircraft before joining the Maryland Air National Guard in 2005.  She then flew the C-130J aircraft with the 135th Airlift Squadron before transitioning to MDANG JFHQ as the Plans and Programs Officer.  She has commanded the 175th Force Support Squadron and the 175th Mission Support Group.  Brig Gen Kremser also served as the Director of the 175th Wing Emergency Operations Center, coordinating all Wing operations in support of COVID-19 Response and Operation Allies Welcome.  Prior to her current position, Brig Gen Kremser was assigned to the MDANG JFHQ as the Director of Operations and the Chief of Staff.
