Maryland National Guard Emergency Relief Fund
The Emergency Relief Fund is a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to provide financial support for military pay related issues. All Maryland National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are eligible for assistance. Based on fund availability, the Emergency Relief Fund Provides one grant per guard family. No repayment is necessary. Loans are not available.
To qualify for a grant, several documents must be provided. They include, but are not limited to, all income sources, itemized statement of monthly and other expenses, other assistance received, and records of public assistance. Documentation that all other avenues have also been exhausted is also required (i.e. Red Cross, Army Emergency Relief). Applications are processed through the Family Assistance Centers

Surge Military Family Life Consultant - Personal Financial Counselor (MFLC-PFC)
Surge MFLC-PFCs may be in place at local units if requested. These surge MFLC-PFC are usually available for six- month time frames depending on need. MFLC-PFCs provide financial counseling and education services to military Service Members and their Families with personal financial readiness services. This includes providing personal and Family financial counseling, planning, education, awareness information services, appropriate referrals, and assistance to applicable military Families.
